María Montéz International Airport (AIMM) is located off the coast of the Barahona peninsula. It is named in honor of the famous Dominican film actress considered the queen of technicolor.
It has a 2,565-square-meter terminal and a 3,000-meter-long x 45-meter-wide runway, capable of receiving wide-bodied aircraft.
It is the gateway to the beautiful ecotourism area of the Southwest of the country, with a variety of attractions, including: Lake Enriquillo, the largest of the Antilles; the thermal baths of Las Marías, excellent surfing beaches and spectacular mountains.
